HOTEL CENOBIO DEI DOGI
Prettily perched atop the craggy coastline of the eastern Ligurian Riviera, where the slender sliver of shore dives dramatically into the Mediterranean Sea, the Hotel Cenobio dei Dogi is just a short stroll from the old fishing village of Camogli. Brimming with history yet charmingly contemporary, the hotel is an enchanting cocktail of past mixed with present. Roaming about the property it is easy to perceive the same sensations experienced by the Genoese Doges over four centuries ago when they discovered this idyllic corner of what has been suitably named “Paradise Gulf”. Inspired by its peace and beauty, the Doges decided to claim this spot as their retreat, or cenobio, where they could gather for meditation and convivial meals together with the priests and cardinals who visited frequently, as attested to by the 16th century chapel dedicated to St. Emilio which is still open to guests.
